Crucial Tips To Take Care Of Your Houseplants

Houseplants can be a crucial part of home decor. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing and can complement other aspects of the design of your home, but they also add a sense of life to the home and can even improve the air quality of the interior of your house. Managing both the well-being of your plants and incorporating them into the design of your home is no easy task, however. Here are some tips to best manage your houseplant situation.

Pay Attention To Light Conditions

You likely are aware that certain kinds of plants need certain types of lighting to survive. However, this is a bit more complicated as it seems, as some plants do better on an east-facing window that will get softer morning light, while others will thrive in the intense south or west-facing windows. Pay attention to how your plants respond to varying degrees of lighting and place them where they grow the best.

Use Hanging Planters

Hanging planters not only gives an added sense of depth to the plants from a decorations aspect, but they also will help you find attractive places in your home to display the plant while getting creative in finding them the necessary light, as you can elevate the plant vertically to reach differing rays of light at different times.

Use Mirrors

Another way to manipulate light so that you can fit your plant into different spaces is to use mirrors. Adding a mirror to a dark or empty corner of your room can add life to what would be an otherwise gloomy section. This also allows you to place plants that require more light in a room you may otherwise not be able to place them in, as you can use the mirrors to reflect additional sunlight onto the plants when angled correctly.
